I know exactly how to do this, but I worry you will break something.

Why do you need to delete these folders? Are they in use?

DO NOT DO THIS LIGHTLY.

Right click a folder. Click the "Security" tab. Click "Advanced."

From here click "Change" next to the Owner: display.

Type in your user name and click "Check Names."

Click OK.

Under permissions now click "Add"

Under "Select a principal" either type your user name again or type Owner and click "Okay."

Now check "Full Control" under Basic Permissions.

Do NOT check "Only apply these permissions to objects/and or containers within this conainer."

If asked to apply the security settings to all subfolders, say yes.

It may take several iterations of this to fully take control of the folders to delete them.

MAKE SURE you should be deleting them though. You can break things stealing ownership/permissions from the OS.
