Don't they realize that PC gamers haven't used optical media in over a decade?

Blu-Ray Burner here for those times when I want to save data. I don't do full backups, only backup stuff that I can't easily replace...

I think technically it might be cheaper to buy a cheap hard drive and back the data up there, but it's not as convenient for me, and when I run out of space, I'm done... with blu rays I just buy another stack of 25-50 blank blu-ray discs and that will last me for a decent amount of time.

I also actually buy/watch movies on DVD/Blu-Ray now and then. It beats having to keep a ripped copy on the hard drive.

Optical drive uses:

-Ripping your CD collection to Digital.
-Making home movies to share with other people (you can encode 4K quality video and squeeze it on a DVD)
-Making Custom drink coasters via lightscribe
-watching a movie (if you can find software that actually works)
If what I said doesn't makes sense... it's because you don't want it to make sense.

Because people who buy premades need a way to listen to their Fleetwood Mac CD's while logging onto AOL.

Are you sure they're not gonna listen to Benny Goodman on the Victrola while writing a letter to their grandmother?

I actually got a good laugh out of this though... I mean, I agree with the AOL thing, but what's wrong with Fleetwood Mac?

I buy DVDs and watch them on PC as I don't use TVs anymore. There are more uses to optical drives than games, you know.

I also play older games too that I have discs for.

What are you guys still doing watching DVDs? Literally 720x480 resolution.

A lot of the stuff I like to re-watch is only available on DVD.

EDIT Btw, there's nothing wrong with the music of Benny Goodman!

I prefer to get music albums on CD. Further, I want to be able to read most media, which means I need an SD card reader...
