How, unless you got it from some where that stole it or are part of some kind of affiliate program like retail edge or got it used

I bought my 4770K from Microcenter for $200 less than three months after it released. When I went in to pick it up, I asked if it was some sort of mistake. I was told they do it somewhat routinely to try and get people to buy other things. It worked in my case. Ended up buying a mobo as well. If they do that for the 8700K, I'll probably pull the trigger and upgrade the CPU, mobo and RAM.

Microcenter is awesome. :D

Depending on IPC, these could be quite competitive alternatives to AMD's Ryzen lineup. I would say, of the lot, 8700 or 8400, or 8100 are the ones to watch. Maybe 8350k for an ultimate emulation/cstrike build, but otherwise, the 65w budget chips are a much better deal, much like with Ryzen.

Ya but unlike Ryzen you need a new board with the new 8700s

... Does Ryzen somehow work in AM3+ boards? Or maybe some Intel socket somehow?
I mean s***, if you wanted to even upgrade from Ryzen to Threadripper, you needed to immediately turn around and shell out for a new board.

$359 is if you buy it in a set of 1000 iirc.
So expect it to actually be more expensive.
