Why are we using console ports as a metric

Because that's what most PC games are. Big IP games need a big consumer base.

Did the console versions restrict the PC version?
"If the consoles are not involved there is no Witcher 3 as it is," answers Marcin Iwinski, definitively. "We can lay it out that simply. We just cannot afford it, because consoles allow us to go higher in terms of the possible or achievable sales; have a higher budget for the game, and invest it all into developing this huge, gigantic world.

No problem. I think consoles limiting hardware is a good thing. The consoles themselves let's me eyeball the specs needed when buying a gaming laptop at the beginning of a console generation so I won't have to make another substantial purchase halfway through it and the console's limitations compared to newer PCs on the back half of the generation lets my gaming laptop keep up. I almost have it down to a science.

No, there is no need to upgrade if you want to keep up to a minimum of 60 FPS at 1080P. The GPU bottlenecks the perfomance at higher resolutions.

What master race needs consoling?
Logic is the antithesis of faith, else why is it that faith defies logic while logic denies faith?
