Not an adaption? It's almost identical to the movie.

I played it before watching the movie. If I'd played it after, I'd have wished they had tried to make something more unique.
... even on Earth Mode.

Well it's not really identical to the movie. You play as a different detective, you're searching for different Replicants and the crimes you're solving are (mostly) unrelated to those in the movie.

But it does stick really close to the movie's events.

They need to bring that Blade Runner game made from Westwood to GOG or do a remake of it.

Sadly, it seems the source code to the game was lost so that may not happen :\

they don't need the source code to release a game on their store. blood is a perfect example of source code that will never get released, yet it's been on gog for as long as i can remember

Still, yeah, I hope they launch the game on steam or GOG some day ^^

Almost none of the games on GOG were recompiled from source code. And I'd wager the vast majority of its back catalog have long lost their source code. Historically, most developers just didn't care about source code for a game that reached its end of life, but that doesn't mean the old copies just stop working. Windows has backwards compatibility, and DOS games work fine on DOSBox.
