Will make sure I use a big space if I ever get Gorn then. I also have a light fixture overhead where I play.

I've mostly avoided slamming my light fixture by offsetting my play space just a bit so that the center isn't directly under the lights, but I occasionally still bump it. I just make sure I don't do any overhead swings in anything (even Selfie Tennis).

I think the makers of Gorn are well aware of the reputation of destruction too...their trailer for the game kinda makes fun of it.

half the reviews make reference to stuff they've broken too...Just be real conservative with your chaparone bounds and maybe you won't punch a wall with full force (hehe)

lol, I enjoyed the trailer
Nearly made me want to buy the game!

I'm not worried for myself, but I am for other family members. Like my dad, who was playing table tennis. After making sure he was okay, I left him on his own and I heard a thud twenty minutes later. He had had enough and had dropped one of the controllers on the floor, because he want to put the table tennis bat on the table in the game T.T

I've done that before (back when I was still new to VR and could forget it wasn't real). I also have done the thing where you go to lean on a table and then remember 1 millisecond too late that the table isn't really there and you just leaned on thin air.

Anyway, if you get it, just put padding around your playspace or don't leave people unattended.

Actually there's a thing with the advanced VR settings program that lets you a) change the distance at which the chaperone bounds appear depending on velocity (the faster you move, the farther away it shows up) and b) if you get too close to the boundaries, it can play a warning sound or make the controller vibrate (or both)

That doesn't help with overhead smash moves though.

That's so cool! Thanks a lot for the info regarding the boundary.

You made me recall that I, too, nearly leaned in on a table in Sports Bar VR when playing pool >_<
