People, please, be honest with yourselves. You never thought booster packs for CCGs were gambling. You never thought these http://www.x-entertainment.com/articles/0918/rack.jpg were gambling. The only reason you think loot boxes are gambling is because it personally affects you and you don't like them.

I've always thought those were rip offs, what's your point?

Too many people in this topic are unable to understand the difference between chance, and gambling. Just because something revolves around chance, doesn't make it gambling. No matter what you get in overwatch, what you are getting has absolutely 0 monetary value. You never come out ahead, or even in the positive. it is chance buying, nothing else. A fool and his money have always been easily parted.

It's not even remotely close to a new trend. What are you new?

Expecting new and exciting regulation about loot boxes is ridiculous and dumb. It's not gambling.

If you don't like loot boxes, don't buy the game. That's how you make your voice heard.

Which doesn't mean anything because as far as the brain is concerned it is gambling. Go ahead and split hairs over the technicalities of definitions all you want, it doesn't matter as far as actual addiction is concerned.

That's not an addiction to gambling. Gambling addicts aren't addicted to getting nothing, they are addicted to the idea of getting a huge payout for nothing.

Yes it is. People can get addicted to opening CCG packs exactly the same as they can get addicted to pulling a slot machine lever.

I've also re-sold TCG cards, same day, for hundreds. Again, that becomes an addiction to getting something of value, for nothing.

Unless of course your one of those people who just tries to pass off every situation of humans having a pathetic lack of any willpower as an issue. In which case, most of the addictions out there aren't real issues, just incredibly pathetic people.

Should probably stop trying to tell people what's what about gambling addiction. You're spreading misinformation
