Expecting new and exciting regulation about loot boxes is ridiculous and dumb. It's not gambling.

Expect for all the cases where it's directly facilitating gambling you mean.

Then go after those sites

No one's suggesting they shouldn't. But the publishers aren't getting a free pass on their part in it. After all they profit from it massively too.

So, every item that could ever potentially be used for gambling must now be regulated under gambling rules? Guess that means Pac-Man is out

If you want to hold publishers accountable, don't buy their product. Calling for government intervention in a business practice you don't like is just silly. I don't like Burger King, so I don't go there. I don't like loot boxes, so I'm not buying Forza. Easy solution to an simple problem.

Hope they're paying you well to defend them.

If that's the only comeback you have, that's unfortunate

I don't even know right now, people really think this is gambling? People waste there money due to having zero willpower, and now they want "regulation" on it, because it's "Gambling". For what? Is there going to be a giant sticker on the box that says "Has micro-transactions"? because that's going to make a difference. Are they going to tell companies to stop doing it? because that's just asinine. You can't say "ID the buyer" because that's already supposed to happen anyways. Do you want these games locked up behind a gas station attendant, and treated like a addict every time you try to buy one. I mean, what if you just don't buy the microtransactions, what are people going to think of that guy. "Wow, look at what he's buying, it's got gambling stickers all over it, and he had to get from a gas station attendant because they can't sell that game at a normal video game store. He must be doing something wrong."

Sigh:rant over, sry guys

You seriously think that the individual consumer not buying a product is in any way, shape or form a way to hold them accountable for any number of legal issues around these business practices. You're not worth a detailed rebuttal.

Well if would pay attention you'd know that the idea is to give games with loot boxes an automatic "M" rating and yes that would make a difference.

if you're actively waiting for comebacks, that likely means you're expecting to be refuted, which would indicate your stance isn't rock solid.

@Hatsune_Miku

I want to know the % chance to receive all contents within a loot box. I want this % chance enforced by law with an extremely heavy fine that could bankrupt companies for f***ing around with this.

I am sure many others would be for this.

That, at the very least should be implemented even on the lootboxes that arguably aren't gambling. Verified by an independent certification body.
