Most of the core tech looks to be identical other than the performance enhancements. What are the chances of a bios flash?

The biggest performance gap is the Cuda cores and TF, but the GPU chip looks to be the same as the original 1070.

I don't want to upgrade cards but a bios flash would be amazing if it's possible.

I don't know why anyone would think that. If you could flash 1070 to 1070Ti, you'd be able to flash it to 1080 as well.

The 1080 uses a different CPU than the 1070 Ti. From what I read the 1070 and Ti use identical GPU tech. It's like the Radeon 480 to 580.

Yeah, no, 1080 uses the same GP104 as 1070.

They're two different cards even if the core tech is the same the GPUs are different. The 1070 Ti is an enhanced 1070 rather than a new card. Like RX 480 to 580.

Nope, 1080 and 1070 both use the same core, physically identical.

I think you're getting confused with this topic. There's a big difference and performance gap between the 1070-1080 than the 1070-1070 Ti. The 1070 Ti is an enhanced 1070 while the 1080 is it's own card in the 10 series. The gap between 1080-1080 Ti is massive compared to 1070-1070 Ti. This is why a bios flash could be more possible now.
