...Have you been able to get your headsets to work with mixed reality?

I have not.

In fact, the update killed my headset altogether temporarily. Was working fine before the update, and after the update, no video. Updated my GPU driver though and it works fine now. So everything is hunky dory, except when I try to use the mixed reality app. It just tells me to "connect a headset", which is connected.

the mixed reality app.

Are you sure that's not for the Microsoft "mixed reality" headsets? because I don't think the other headsets natively support mixed reality.

The whole use of the term Mixed Reality is annoying since before Microsoft stuck their fat nose into the business, it was used to mean when you filmed a VR player outside of VR and combined that with footage from inside VR. Now thanks to Microsoft, "mixed reality" means Augmented/Virtual Reality.

So yeah, I don't know about the Rift, but I think Steam/Vive was working on an "augmented reality" with the camera built in, but not like devoting a lot of resources to it.

I am not aware of anything Rift having anything to do with Augmented reality at all though maybe their newer headset coming out will do it since it'll use cameras to track position.

BUT, I haven't updated my windows 10 since last November, so I don't know anything about the update and how it affects VR.

tl;dr I think the update is supposed to be for support for the Microsoft headsets, not Vive/Rift.
