I did the prologue and got to the first town area in Chapter 1, maybe 6 hours or so after a heap of messing about and dying at the start >.>

Anyway, I was running it on High and it looked nice enough, and ran smoothly enough until I got to this town area. It gets the odd stutter now and then, and was unsure if this is standard or a sign I need to lower something. If it's just a hub area with the odd stutter, I can tolerate that.

http://www.moddb.com/games/the-witcher-2-assassins-of-kings/downloads/witcher-2-stuttering-fix Found this 'patch' but not sure if it's still a thing or not.

My next question is regarding gameplay. With the Enhanced Edition, is there any mods recommended I download and use for a first playthrough? I have heard a few comments on The Witcher 2 having an odd leveling system compared to the first and third game. Any unofficial patches or anything I should check out?

Appreciate any other advice! I just don't want to get too far in before making any changes that may require a restart.

I've beat the game several times and frankly never had a problem with the leveling system. I think you should give the game a chance as it is and maybe search for mods when doing a second playthrough.
You have absolutely no right to complain about a decision you decided to support with your money. Be smart and vote with your wallets!

I don't have a godly pc (at least to the standards of today) and I ran witcher on high perfectly with no hiccups so it is probably not the games fault you should probably play with the settings a bit and not at all the leveling is perfect as it is. Enjoy the game it is amazing.
