80/80 perfect!

http://www.pcgamer.com/this-nifty-utility-purportedly-compacts-your-games-without-a-performance-hit/

Could be a handy utility for saving space in ssds, and improving load times.
Suspiciously sounds like ntfs compression.

Not so great at compressing HoTS, blizzard already compresses most of this one.

Fortnite, however, is almost entirely uncompressed and I was able to sheer off 14GB of the overall 15GB of this game.

I've used the tool, it freed up over 100gb of data on my SSD through my stream folder alone.
If you don't like microtransactions in full priced AAA games, vote with your wallet and don't buy those games.

Because, on a console, "no performance hit" doesn't exist. And consoles are all M$ gives a f*** about now.

Should work for everything. I'm going to try on my laptop.

I would of though it would work on mech drives as well. If it was only for SSDs it wouldn't make much sense.

Someone should try this on a game like DOOM or the new Shadow of Mordor game and see what it does

thought about it some more, probably the reason games are not compressed is because it expends CPU cycles to uncompress it on the fly, whilst you usually have plenty of storage space so it's not worth the hit to the CPU. probably matters more for games like Fortnite where right off the bat you can tell it's gonna be more CPU demanding than GPU demanding.

I've also wondered about this, people say lazy devs but I am still not convinced especially with games that have huge budgets it shouldn't be that hard to compress a game no ?
