5:53 - The crazy 8700K performance benchmarks displayed by certain reviewers were because of, effectively (auto)overclocking set by default on select mobos. (10 bucks says Linus won't bother revising his review)

51:48 - There was some shady **** going on with the reason for Coffee Lake not being compatible with Z270 mobos

Discuss.

jayztwocents did it earlier. you don't have to wait for linus to revise it. also asus should have known about this because they made the motherboard and tested it.

Asus did this before back in the day with OCing CPU FSB out the box leading to slight edging of all other boards in reviews. Also, most of them have revised their testing.

Also, and ASUS employee admitted there's no physical rreason Coffee Lake couldn't be on Z270 or even Z170. The pin layout is identical with the execption that Z370 boards have a few more pins powered up than Z270(if you looked at a diagram these pins would be red and marked RSVD) but he stated this wasn't needed and a BIOS and ME update would make them cross compatible just fine.
It's not the end of the world, but we can see it from here.

Actually, if we're talking who's first, AdoredTV did it first.

But the damage is already done. How many people out there already paid for 8700K from this misleading crap. Most people won't read reviews twice.

AdoredTV wasn't the first. This issue was adressed by other reviewers, like for example OC3D a week before his take on it.
