Tried asking this on the Android board, but it's kinda dead. I have a Youtube channel where I play a lot of weeb games, and I like to have the best video quality possible. Mobile has been difficult for me because my Galaxy S7's built-in recording software is nowhere near as good as my capture card. Samsung's SideSync app for outputting to PC via USB doesn't look much better.

I assume there aren't many tablets out there that can handle 1080p60 recording with a decent bitrate while playing a game, but video-out shouldn't be too hard, right? I can never get any info on this when I look up specs. Ideally I'd like to spend less than $200, but I really have no idea what I'm looking for.

How intensive are the games you're recording? I have recorded 1080p 60FPS OSU before on my Surface Pro 2 but that's Windows and not Android.

You can also run an Android emulator, remote desktop on the phone/tablet to PC, and record on the PC at 1080p/60FPS with whatever you want.

You should ask https://www.reddit.com/r/PickAnAndroidForMe/ because it's more populated for these types of questions.

Right now it's just Fate/Grand Order. It doesn't seem too intensive, but it occasionally has minor framerate drops on my phone when some characters use their Noble Phantasms. And I would use an emulator, but unfortunately this game blocks them to discourage account farming.

Eventually I may play games with 3D graphics. There's a Sword Art Online game coming in the future that has graphics that look almost on par with the Vita.

I will suggest looking for something with a USB-C port on it. If the tablet has USB-C, check the specs for supporting USB-C DP configuration. For my Galaxy S8, I have a powered USB-C to HDMI adapter, and it does work because Galaxy S8 does support USB-C to DisplayPort connection. The adapter converts DP to HDMI.

The key problem I have with the Galaxy S8 is it has a weird resolution, but not enough of a problem for connecting it to my TV to watch Hulu.

Thanks for the tip.

My mom recently got an S8, and yeah that thing looks kinda funky. Don't like that it completely lacks buttons outside of the touchscreen.

To be fair, there's a pressure sensitive area where the home button would be which works as a home button from anywhere, even when it's not visible.

Shield Tablet K1.

200$, decent enough construction (it's not like Samsung, Google or Apple are particularly impressive anymore, no one makes anything built to last), still one of the most powerful Android devices because advancements are rarely made (This is so sad considering it's from 2014...), and it has an HDMI out.

I'll keep it in mind, but a quick search is only turning up ones that cost $300 or more. Thanks though.

Dammit. Upon further research, it seems it's been discontinued.
