4K 30fps yeah you'll be OK.

if you want 60fps then you need a 1080 Ti and even then it can struggle. i'm waiting on the 1180 Ti before moving to 4K 60fps. until then my 1070 does me just fine at 1440p 60fps.
PS4 (Slim), PC (i7-6700K, 16GB, GTX 1070).

Not much "insight" here at all. TC, that PC can do 4k/60 fps gaming on most games released. You will run into issues on the newest most demanding titles but lowering settings might get you there. If you play mostly older stuff, you are definitely good.

Based on my anecdotal data of owning a worse cpu than you but on a gtx1080. Only a very small number of games give me issues at 4k.

I wouldn't especially recommend it but it should run most modern games fine at 4k on medium. On older games, depending on how old (or relatively recent but not demanding) you go, even my 670 can handle 4k. It'll be up to you whether you think 4k medium looks better than 1080/basically maxed or 1440p high. Personally I prefer 3440x1440 ultrawide over 4k but my main game really benefits from the extra space on the sides
Every time I try to go where I really wanna be it's already where I am, 'cuz I'm already there

TBH - I have a Ryzen 1700X 3.85Ghz, 16 GB DDR4 3200Mhz RAM, EVGA 1080Ti Gaming S2 and I don't get 4K 60FPS in all games. Some I do. Some I have to set the settings to Medium etc
Ghost Recon: Wildlands is one of them...

Destiny 2 runs great at 4K 60FPS Ultra though!

As for the 1070 - when I had mine, the odd game would hit 4K, but the sweet spot is 1440p.

A lot of games look nearly the same on mid-high settings vs Ultra. Just lower the settings to medium and you're good

You could do 1440p Ultrawide.

Not all games.

I have a 1070. Witcher 3 and Rise of Tomb Raider destroy my system. It's not as obvious because my monitor has g sync but I know it's not running 100 FPS at max settings at 3440x1440

You'll be fine for 4K in most games on high settings

Here's the thing: turn your settings down and you'll be fine at 4K. If you want to run on ultra settings turn the resolution down. It's a trade-off.

Here's a guy testing a bunch of games on a 1070 with an i7 from 2013/early 2014...
