Thankfully it's still under warranty. But still. -sniffles- Makes me sad man. It's been a good soldier

How old?

The only GPUs I've had fail on me were both really high ends: 7950 GX2 and 280 GTX. Afterwards I never got the highest end and opt for the 7 ones. My 670 is still going strong despite being OCed faster than a 690. My 1070 shouldn't be anywhere close to dying...I hope.

It's 2 years old. And has been used a LOT

Kinda pathetic on nvidia's part. Both the cards I listed died around the 2 year mark as well.

Wonder if this is a common occurrence?

doesn't it depend on the operating temperature of the GPUs? what temps were your cards running at?

Like every manufacturer has a 3 year warranty. Did you not RMA them?

I don't think mine really went over 80 often. And no, electronic components will eventually wear down. It's kind of all luck

80C is already pretty toasty tho. Maybe at >80C it can only last 2 years.

It will always go over 80c if you're running 4K
