So I have a rather old system, though it has been holding up well with most games I've been wanting to catch up on. The main problem I come to though is the CPU being insufficient for many games... I know the GPU is old too, but it seems to still manage with a lot of modern games and I feel I can save a bit of cash now if I save upgrading that for later on.

The main thing I am unsure about is what a good CPU and/or motherboard to upgrade to. *TRYING TO GO AS REASONABLY PRICED AS POSSIBLE*

So, I will list what I've got right now, and I will list a few things I've looked at (likely 2nd hand mind you!) and the prices they're listed at.

Current parts:

-Intel Core 2 Q6600 2.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
-Asus PQ something motherboard (not entirely sure how I can check this as I type...)
-Geforce GTX 650 Ti (Hoping to upgrade this later down the track to save money now)
-8GB RAM
-1TB HDD

So yea, nothing special but I don't play modern games on it... Yet....

What I'm looking at:

You are better off buying bottom barrel current gen hardware.
Even the destitute tier is an arguable upgrade

You don't need to upgrade that PC. You need to build a whole new PC.
