So as the title stated I just recently got into pc gaming and I ended up buying a desktop with i7 7700 processor and a GTX 1060 GPU but after if placed the order I realized the GPU was only 3gb VRAM instead of 6gb which everyone says never do the 3gb. Should I invest in an upgrade if I want to play VR or should I be fine until say the GTX 1080 GPUs go down in price? Thanks very much in advance.

Note- I also will not be playing absolutely huge games like Witcher 3 and GTA V as I already have them on the PS4. I want to play a few MMOs like Dauntless and a few Steam only games.

Ya VR needs a good GPU, but as for those games, I'm sure you will be fine. Can't you return it?

I could return it but I bought it at overstock and I've heard horror stories about their return policies and as petty as it is, I love the computer case it has 😂😂😂

Stick with it for now, the new Nvidia ampere series cards will come early 2018 and may drive the 1000 series card prices down.
Pc: i7 6700k/980 ti/16gb ram and Ps4.

Just avoid VR. But yeah, a 3gb 1060 may struggle a bit with some VR titles. I assume. You probably need to look up some benchmarks if VR is a major interest for you.

The 1060 is not meant for heavy VR games if you want to play a heavy GPU depended VR game then get a 1080.

I'd return for the 6gb. You only get so long for return & replace.
