Stick with it for now, the new Nvidia ampere series cards will come early 2018 and may drive the 1000 series card prices down.

Lol....it wont even be announced until the end of Q1 2018...

Keep the 3GB. You can last to Ampere with it regardless of when in 2018 it launches.
Explain why MSI needs our laptops on top of the wholesale cost they're already get from us in their GT72(s)/GT80(s) trade in program? MSI isn't to be trusted!

I think I am gonna just stick with it because I still gotta save up to afford the HTC vive anyway. So I'll just have Dauntless to keep me busy till then and I'm sure this computer will be able to easily handle Dauntless at max settings. Thanks everyone for the advice.

Ya VR needs a good GPU, but as for those games, I'm sure you will be fine. Can't you return it?

for GTAV he might need to lower his textures actually

He doesn't want to play GTA5

Or witcher 3, he has those games on consoles. I'm not rebuying them either on PC. Wished I never played Witcher 3, then I could enjoy it how it was meant to be played on PC.

A lot of the games I have seen recommended a 1070 for VR. If your looking for a more long lasting solution for VR I would go with a 1070 or better.

I wouldn't really recommend the 1060 3GB unless you are on a tight budget and you get one at some real cheap price like $180 or some thing. If you got the money to spend go for the 1070.

Well, this may also be poor reading comprehension, which could impair one's ability to follow directions when building.
