Firefox devs need to learn "not being google" and "being slightly faster than google" isnt f***ing enough to make people use your browser. Customization is the heart of the browser, start supporting it better. When you cant even be arsed to put an about:config preference for tabs below the address bar or the necessary APIs for add-on devs to implement it you have a problem.

Their selling pitch is privacy over what Google does to people who use their browser. They may advertise speed and make those comparisons to Chrome but their whole thing is Privacy.

How much faster than instant can it be though?

I use chrome and edge exclusive, mostly edge, I click on something it loads pretty much instantly. There's certainly no "1-2 seconds" wait time. More like 1-2 ms, which is instant tbh.

Oh, so Firefox now has their own search engine? Cool.

Why are people always asking about NoScript?

After Quantum hit I tried uMatrix and it's far superior.

It also comes with the added bonus of ya know, not being spied on by Google. So I think I'll take that plus the speed.

Better get rid of that cellphone while you're at it. That thing spies on you infinitely more than any browser could ever hope to.

Lol. Why are people always going from the default settings. My phone's google profile is near empty, it never tracks my location based on ip, but on search terms instead.

Also pretty much every single Sony app is disabled so they can't really spy either.

The only thing my phone stores is routes and locations IF I'm using maps, which is like 3 times a year.

Ofc idk about any 3rd party apps like Firefox, games, etc. I suppose you have less control over those.

It's not owned by Mozilla but I use Duckduckgo over Google. Google isn't the only search engine in the world.

I like StartPage. It pulls results from Google while keeping you anonymous.

uMatrix works as adblocker too
One addon to rule them all
Relax, it's just a game.

So I ran several benchmarks to test the speed of Chrome, Firefox Quantum, and Edge. Edge did the worst in all but the graphics test, and Firefox narrowly beat out Chrome on speed of searching and running JavaScript applications. Honestly, not that impressive.

Considering where Firefox was not all that long ago, it's VERY impressive.
