Well, not really sad - it was *way* too grindy to unlock new heroes and stuff, which made it a lot less fun. It was a decent game, but they tweaked it too far in favor of profit over fun, to the point it wasn't fun enough for people to keep playing, which killed their profit as well. I honestly am surprised it lasted as long as it did.

At this point anyone who played it knew it would happen soon, they completely destroyed it after David Brevik left and there was barely anything new to make it worth playing.

It's a shame because it was one of the few Marvel games available at the moment and it's probably going to be the last with a full Marvel roster in a while.

At least Lego Marvel 2 is fun (but l want the x-men!)

The last big ovrhaul change killed the game. it's a shame, I really enjoyed it for quite a while. And I'll miss my Dr. Doom, I put a s*** ton of time in to him. That said, I started missing him when they killed the game. It officially closing doesn't mean much when it's all but been deserted already.

Even with the excessive grinding, the game was still fun.

And then it got consolitis... Became too streamlined and boring. This game entered in a coma state when the Omega update dropped, now they are just pulling the plug.

happened sooner than expected after the whole "big" 2.0 change(read = consolization) which apparently was necessary to draw more customers in i guess.

sad... had a few k hours in it but at some point the hero releases and collecting couldn't outweigh the lack of interesting content for existing heroes.

Meh, there's always Path of Exile or Grim Dawn at the least.

Always sucks to see a game shutdown.

I played Marvel Heroes during the first year or so. Didn't really dabble in it in the following years.

I wonder why Marvel is cutting the contract between them though... not seeing enough cashflow? =/

man I'm glad I didn't invest in that game. Seemed like a time bomb waiting to go off.

Disney has always had a problem with Marvel Heroes due to the characters and outfits they add not being a part of the homogenized Marvel games updates that they force all games to do.
