I remember playing a PC game that was like Mutant League Football, but it had more focus on the combat. Brutal Sports Football. There was no referee, and there were no downs either. The only time play halted was to do a ball scramble in the middle at the start of quarters, or after a team scored. You could decapitate people, then use their limbs as weapons, pick up katanas, bombs, etc.

I prefer that to Mutant Football League, which plays more like NFL Blitz. I was looking to see if there were options in the demo to make it more like the combat football game I had played, but don't see anything that would do this.

Does the full version allow things like this? No referee, no stoppage of play, etc.? I notice a lot of option menus in the demo are greyed out, so I'm not seeing everything.

Well. Can't buy the full game to see and refund if I don't like it, even if in accordance with Steam's refund terms because they've changed their mind.

Demo is inadequate.

Going one-eyed for a bit here...

OK doesn't have these features. Kind of a bummer. Would add so much more to the game. Oh well. Still buying it. Like it so far.

I tried out the demo, and it held up compared to what I was expecting. I enjoyed Mutant League Football back in the day, and to see a modern take on that game was refreshing. It reminded me of how Road Redemption did a similar thing by taking the elements of Road Rash and infusing them with new ideas and execution.

I might not jump into the full game right away, but at least I know what I'm getting into with Mutant Football League.

I would've liked if they incorporated a few extra features to spice this up even more. The no ref thing and no play stoppage would've been cool options. Also would've liked the ability to do proper fights... Blades of Steel is still the only sports game to ever do this right imo.
