I am upgrading my PC since I have been using the same cpu and motherboard for 8 years now. I was wondering if $400 is a good price for this combination.

You may need new RAM too if you decide to do this.

Honestly you would not be saving much if anything with that combo. Especially if it's a non-K i7.

Also yes, you will need DDR4 RAm if you don't already have that..

Looks like roughly $40 in savings. But that's IF it's the 7700k. Plus you get 2 free games so..

Yeah I'm pretty sure my ram is only DDR3. Is there a way to see if it is DDR3 or 4 without opening my computer? I checked the control panel and all it told me was how much I have.

Haswell-e and skylake where the first to support ddr4, so you dont have a ddr4 inside your comp.

Ok. Ugh this is all becoming more expensive than I already thought. I also need a SSD. Will I need a new power supply too?

You don't need a SSD. But ya you might need to do a whole new build.
