I picked this up yesterday. TBH, though, it probably won't actually improve the game. Titan Quest's biggest problem is that its pacing is somewhat too slow. Facing mythological bosses and travelling through unique areas like the Labyrinth, Valley of Kings, and Babylonian Gardens is cool, but there's definitely way too much traveling through random farmlands and killing generic enemies inbetween the game's more interesting setpieces. Act 4 is already the most egregiously slow area in the game, and my gut says this will probably be comparable. If the game was about 50% shorter, it would probably be an incredible ride the whole way through (and any lost playtime would just come from making more characters). As it is, it's solid but tends to get boring after a while.

Still, a new mastery is cool and I appreciate that they're still supporting the game after all this time. Performance also seems to be improved, for example I always got disgusting frame drops in the Olive Grove area but I was there on a character yesterday and there were no more frame drops.

The moving smoke particles in the olive grove were probably the main culprit there for slowdowns. It would also explain why the main tree on the top of the hill didn't have any smoke.

I never had too much issue with the "pacing" in Titan Quest so much as how ranged weapon combat seemed ass backwards with the whole charge->fire instead of fire->recover thing going on along with the absurd bump in enemy stat scaling in the later acts.

I had one character go from king of the world in one act to street corner beggar within three or so zones. I didn't like it when Torchlight 2 did that towards the end of Act 4, I didn't like it when Borderlands 2 did it in the level 40+ parts of the game, and I don't particularly like it in Titan Quest either.

Giving players an adequate challenge is fine, but having players go from super easy mode to curb-stomp deathwish mode in the span of half an hour, without changes to game "difficulty" settings, isn't exactly good game design.

Picked it up for $4 today and started playing the first few missions and liking it. So far seems like a quality game in the same breath as the Diablos and Torchlights which are also two of my favorite games. Also it plays great on my cheap, 5 year old laptop that won't play many games these days. So it's perfect for someone like me. For less than the cost of a footlong at Subway, I'm not regretting the purchase at all.

Haven't played TQ in ages and am currently addicted to Grim Dawn. Will have to pick this up down the line if/when I pick TQ up again.

Cool. My times vary a bit... I'm in Australia and I am studying so my routine is all over the place. Sometimes I am gaming at 3am, others at 10pm!

What classes did you both pick? In my experience it seems casters can be a little OP at the start compared to melee builds.

Anyone playing this currently is free to add me on Steam too! I've been playing mostly solo on my main, currently at what I would say is the end of Act 3. Not into cheating etc but if anyone wanted to get a character boosted by a few levels I can help with that too. Only level 30 so don't expect the end game :P
