My current Logitech X-240 2.1 speakers are on their way out and I need a replacement.

Are there any recommended 2.1 (or surround sound if they're decent for the price) speakers for less than £100? Ideally I'd like ones with a volume control on the speakers or a 'remote' and a headphone jack built into either.

For comparison, here's my current set:

Thank you.

Anyone have experience with the Creative Sound BlasterX Kratos S3?

I can get these for about £50.

Buy the Swan M10. Currently using it right now. Solid $100 speakers. Almost on par to AE A2+.

That's a bit too far for me, I don't really use the PC speakers for serious music listening (which I consider a £200 set of speakers for).

Interesting, the only downside I can see is the lack of a 'remote' and headphone jack so I'd have to kludge something using a 3.5mm splitter cable.

If you own a set, do you think it would make much of a difference with the centre speaker on the floor (don't know if it's just for bass or not)?

I will +1 this one given your budget. Don't blanket believe in certifications but in my experience, Logitech's THX certified speakers are a few levels above their other speaker setups, especially in the sub, which I assume you care about since you want a 2.1 setup.

You have to put it on the desk which is one of the downsides of the Swan M10.

The Logitech Z623 is not as good as the Swans. You can check it on google.
