Basically you're getting an "HP - Mixed Reality Headset" for free. So yeah, it's a pretty good deal. But what the hell is an HP - Mixed Reality Headset? Is that a standard VR headset or something else?

I'm not sure exactly, but it's listed on Best Buy's site for 400 dollars

My idea is to maybe list it on ebay?

"HP - Mixed Reality Headset

Huh, looks like there's a s*** load on ebay and no one is buying them. You might have to list it at less than $150 just to sell it. But hey, if you only get $99 for it then that's still $99 off this PC.

Here's one that is selling for 220 currently, but you're right there are quite a few listed not selling. So perhaps you could get 200-ish for one, which would make this desktop around 450-500

So yeah, unless theres a catch, I might pick one up myself. Add a SSHD and 8 more gigs of RAM maybe

In October 2017, Microsoft officially launched Windows Mixed Reality and a lineup of third-party headsets for use with the Windows 10 "Fall Creators Update" (including a launch lineup of headsets from Acer, Dell, HP, and Lenovo, and future products from Asus and Samsung), officially referred to as Windows Mixed Reality immersive headsets.[23] Unlike HoloLens, these devices are only compatible with virtual reality software, but the underlying ecosystem is referred to as Windows Mixed Reality regardless of experience. All Immersive headsets feature integrated motion tracking, and contain cameras that can be used to track handheld motion controller accessories, which may be bundled or optional accessories.[24][25]

Immersive headsets are currently compatible with VR software obtained from Microsoft Store, but support for Steam's virtual reality platform (as used by the HTC Vive) will launch in beta on November 15, 2017.[26] Microsoft classifies its minimum and recommended system requirements for Windows Mixed Reality as "Windows Mixed Reality PCs" (60 fps) and "Windows Mixed Reality Ultra PCs" (90 fps). The minimum requirements specify an Intel Core i5-7200U or better for laptops, 8 GB of RAM, Intel HD Graphics 620 or better with DirectX 12 support, USB 3.0, HDMI or DisplayPort connections, and Bluetooth 4.0 support for controllers; The Verge noted that users "won't need a high-end gaming PC" to meet these recommendations.

So... what's this thing for again? Does it work on Steam or not?

Looks like it's in early access - but yeah, it will support SteamVR?

It actually doesn't look like that bad of a VR headset.
