Win10 is trying to install 1709 for me. After restarting, it gave me a black screen, like there was no signal going from the computer to the monitor at all. I waited a while to see what would happen, nothing happened, so I cut the power and restarted it. Then it spent a long time restoring the previous version of windows. I really don't want to install this if it's just Microsoft as usual breaking everything in the name of progress.

One of the computers at work had this "no signal to the monitor" problem too.

Tried it again, same result. It seems like it basically bricks my computer, the monitor won't get any signal and trying to use the restart button won't work like usual so I have to unplug it and restore to a previous version of windows.

I've found this but it's really f***ing complicated, and how are you supposed to do anything if your monitor display isn't working?

Sounds like yet again Microsoft has f***ed up basic driver issues. They and Intel totally f***ed up Windows 8 and 8.1 with crappy driver support. Never had a problem with Win10 before but this is stupid.

I've had issues with this on multiple machines, both in getting it to install and in the aftermath. This is easily the most botched Windows Update in a while.

I'm still using the Anniversary update. I get the upgrade message once in a while but i'm not upgrading to this creator's update.

lol why stay on windows 10 and pray the next update doesn't brick your box? upgrade to windows 7, the better windows xD

/joking, but still i wouldn't update without doing some research first. the same reason i haven't "upgraded" to ios 11 on the iphone 6s yet. not all OS updates are good for your device tbh.

it's a fact tbh....countless videos show that.
you're basically forced to upgrade eventually just for App compatibility though...so eventually your iphone will become a brick if you don't upgrade, or become a turtle from upgrading. you're SOL either way.
