I'm trying to think of one here. And nothing due to tech issues, okay? Gameplay or story related dislike.

I didn't like Panzer General 94' when I first played it. Very indepth game with a lot of numbers for every unit representing different situations, fighting in terrain, vulnerability to air attacks and all. The manual didn't help. But there is a guide floating about that explains all the mechanics and once you get into it you find its a great reflection of circumstances, and makes you read up maybe 300 entries on wiki pedia on tank and fighter aircraft specs. Opened up my understanding of WW2.
No time for games so I twitch. Youtube is good. Two monitors at any one time. My graphics card ist krap.

Not PC (at least not then), but most obvious to me was the original Dead Rising. Spent about an hour or two on it, died on the first boss and, not realizing how the save system worked, had to restart from the beginning. Rage quitted and hated it. Played it about a month later and was hooked.
What's a knockout like you doing in a computer-generated gin joint like this?
