I wouldnt get Skylake it runs hot and the 8600K is the new version of the 7700K but better, don't buy a dead socket.
Also don't group a i7 with a 1060... If you're going to buy a 1060 get a Ryzen 1600 or something.
If you're spending 1000+ then I'd get this:

Dude. Don't f***ing suggest caviar blue hard drives for gaming builds

What exactly is the problem with a caviar blue?

It's painfully slow

It's the same speed as any other desktop HDD...? Sure it's no black but I don't think it'll be that bad. SSD isn't end all lol plus I put an SSD in the build for the OS. It's not painfully slow and it's a solid drive.

Please link me to a better drive in the same price range?

That's my point, factor into the budget better. Don't just go "Well it's in the price range". RPM =/= speed, either. Blues are meant for general usage and don't perform well when loading large files, especially for games. I have one in my PC for storage of files, videos and pictures. When I DID try to play games off of it, it was insufferably slow

No need to factor it into the budget better. Theres an adequate SSD for the OS and an adequate HDD for gaming. I've used the Blue caviar too and it runs perfectly fine for gaming. The money is better allocated elsewhere in the build where more performance is to be gained. The WD Black is only a little faster barely noticeable and it works great for games.

It has the same RPM, Cache and transfer speeds as any OTHER HDD.
7700K@5.0 - 1080 - EVGA 750 - 16GB DDR4 - Z270 ASUS
H100v2 - Evolv ATX - 500GB SAMSUNG SSD - 1TB WD BLACK

1080ti build:
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/h4Gf6X

Gonna need more than 8GB RAM.

A Ryzen 3 with a 1080 TI. That dude has to be trolling with that build.

Ryzen 3 handles 1440p perfectly fine.

Sucks to be an ignorant troll, huh?

Drop one of the keyboards and spend more on a graphics card. Like a 1070 or somesuch

Thank you. Yeah, that was a dumb mistake...

Here's the updated list:

Looking for any/all additional feedback and I got one more question. Is there really gonna be a substantial drop in price over the weekend for these parts, or just pull the trigger now?

lol I'm done.

You can't figure out how to use pcpartpicker correctly, you added a wd blue, weak graphics card, spending too much on peripherals and case instead of putting it towards graphics.

enjoy your trash.
