Also there is nothing cheaper than mobile trash and look how it's polluted the industry from bottom to top with it's bulls*** including in app purchases, loot boxes, "whale hunting", and other crap.

Cheaper games means less dev incentive which means lower quality games. But expensive games means devs start wanting more for their work eventually which means things like microtransactions because most people won't pay $100+ for a standard edition game, so they keep the cost for base roughly the same but give less and then try to milk in other avenues. Then people complain and devs have to add more while doing less at that same point and we get diluted content stretched over more hours, or just diluted content because devs got used to more incentive, are now being provided less, so are giving less.

Either way we're always getting f***ed. The golden era was the 90s. We were tilted one way prior, we tilted forward too much in the mid-2000s, now we're constantly flapping about. Sometimes there are anomalies. DOOM 2016 was one of them (it's since normalized with the Switch cash-grab release - priced like it's a brand new AAA title [2-3x more than the truly complete versions when bought at non-sale prices on any other platform] while being a stripped down version of original release in many facets). But these are just anomalies.

If that would happen, another video game crash would happen.

The Mayans predicted when the next gaming crash would happen, but I wouldn't put much stock in that one, either.
