There are always times that console games are cheaper than PC. The idea that PC is always cheaper is a fallacy created by PC-only gamers.

Sure, there's times when Game A goes on sale on Console and isn't on sale on PC... but when you look at the whole, it's more likely to find a game on sale on PC that isn't on sale for Console (including Game A).

Some games just never go on sale. I remember ages ago when a friend of mine was still into consoles, he wanted to buy Halo YEARS after it came out, and it was still priced at over $50. Activision rarely puts their s*** on sale either or when they do, they price it like it just came out last year even though it might be 8 years old or more.

REMEMBER: Steam doesn't set the sale prices. It's up to the publisher/developer to decide.

Also, steam doesn't give discounts like they used to because there's the possibility of refunding. Steam Keys aren't refundable so this is why you still find good deals from key resellers.

this is true.

instead of "always cheaper" it's more along the lines of 9.5/10 times.

Maybe compared to past sales, but the deals are still reasonable. I have over 2000 games and I still found a bunch of AAA titles I wanted for cheap.

Maybe compared to past sales

That's the way it's been since the start.

The first big steam sale they ever had was awesome. It had a bit of everything. There was a contest, you got a hat in TF2 if you did everything (or even if you did a few things). I think the sale directly after that was just a bit better in terms of deals, but both were pretty close.

They started making the sales easier to catch the deals (because a flash sale when you weren't around sucked) and that's when the deals started becoming less awesome. Then they made it so it was basically no flash sales, but a deal every 8 hours... then they made it so the 8 hour deals would be extended for another 8 (in case you missed it) and so on and so on.

The only reason the deep discount sales existed was because Valve had data showing that you could put a game on sale for a short period of time, quadruple your income AND make the sales of the game continue to be up higher than normal even after the sale was over. They were trying to make it so that effect could be done over and over during an event.

Basically it was preying on the psychology of the average guy who thought "A deal that only lasts a short time? I don't have time to think about if I really want the game or not, I better buy it before the deal is over!".

This sale is kinda pointless tbh. It's common for games to go from -60 to -75% just one month later.

Just wait.
Just let it go, alright.
