I don't need anything too fancy, just a basic Windows laptop for general internet and email use. One that's reliable and not too expensive.

I literally just bought this.

Don't know if it'll be good, but it looks good and is pretty decent for the price.

That Lenovo is decent for basic usage, only negative I see at a quick glance is only 4GB RAM, but shouldn't be any issues for basic usage.

It's hard to find a laptop today that won't be good enough for TC's use case. On a normal laptop you can easily get an SSD as well.

I kinda wish it was an x7 cherry trail, but for $300, it's pretty decent.

I didn't really want to spend quite that much. Is it unrealistic to find a good laptop for under $300?

To be frank, you are much better off with a retired corporate laptop than a new retail one. More reliable, much better specs, easier to find replacement parts, etc.

Even this would be fine for what you said you need it for

If you're prepared to pay 300 USD, this doesn't look that bad

I saw both of these on newegg's black friday sale, I don't really know american prices

Damn! I'd buy that HP, but as a rule, I don't buy anything with a Prop 65 warning on it. Go figure!

nahh... I wouldn't buy a new laptop as of right now, I'll wait for ones with Raven Ridge Mobile APUs or when Intel launch their CPU with integrated AMD graphics in 2018.
