Did we though? I mean sure, folks voted for those who were up for election, but how many individuals who've been up for senate, house, or presidential election were selected, even indirectly, by the people as a whole? For that matter, how many of the unelected officials who have a hand in controlling the US were put into their positions of power as the result of public choice?

For the House and Senate, that's a state by state decision. The people as a whole (meaning the entire country) have no say. Concerning the President, although I would love to see the Electoral College disappear, it has picked the same president as the people a vast majority of the time.

And I'm not sure who you're referring to about "unelected officials"

So why exactly are they trying to repeal this anyway? Did daddy Comcast whisper in their ear to do so for more money on the next election campaign?

Two out of three presidents this century were picked by the electoral college against the wishes of the majority. This is called a trend.

Nobody voted for Ajit Pai, or anyone else at the FCC. They're all appointees.

States rights constitutional discussion aside, statistics still disagree with you

I'm giving you statistics. Two out of the last three. It's not real complicated stuff.

Bush - Picked by electoral college against wishes of the majority.
Obama - Picked by electoral college with wishes of the majority.
Trump - Picked by electoral college against wishes of the majority.

That's two out of last three. That's called a trend. Did I miss any presidents? Was I wrong on any of those details? If not, please tell me how statistics disagree with the statistics.
