I just built a new PC so my friend is interested in buying my old desktop. I don't think he currently has a PC, and he's not the most tech savvy guy (although he's far better than average). The thing is, I don't know what my old PC is worth.

Specs:

i5-760
Hyper 212 Plus
12GB RAM DDR3-1600
MSI GTX 660Ti
Corsair TX650 V2
Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3 motherboard
Antec 300 case with 4 fans (2x120mm front, 1x140mm top, 1x120mm back)
DVD drive (unbranded from the front, I think Lite-On?)

I'm keeping my old hard drives as I want to keep the data on them, so I'd have to buy him something for storage. I'm leaning toward a 500GB class SSD which seems to be around $130-140, and I'll need a 2.5" to 3.5" adapter for this case (these seem to only be about 5 bucks). I'll also grab him a copy of Windows from eBay.

I also ordered 3 new monitors today for my new PC, so I can give him one of my current ones (which would be a Dell U2312HM).

I'm thinking about asking $350 from him. Subtracting the cost of the SSD, the adapter for the SSD, and a copy of Windows, I'm basically asking $175 for the above system and monitor. Is that too much?
That bird was trying to buy a stereo with my credit card!

I think it's a pretty good price. I've seen prebuilts without a ssd, no monitor and a non-integrated gpu for around the same price you'r asking. In fact i think i would buy that.

At most, you're ripping yourself off.
Unless the PC has temperature problems a.k.a. failing hardware, that rig is easily worth $800, especially for someone who doesn't know computers and couldn't build a better one from scratch.

Not even close. You can buy <$200CAD workstation refurbs with better processors. 660Ti is worth, maybe, $100 or so.
The currently suggested price is actually pretty fair. I wouldn't say the stripped tower should go for more than $250~300, mostly for the solid if old PSU and fairly high memory capacity. But, even that would be pretty generous.
a quad core i7 was just a rebranded celeron -Pengu1n

With a monitor that'd be a pretty good deal if someone needed a full setup from scratch. Not something I'd buy for myself but definitely something I'd recommend to a friend who wanted to get into pc gaming for the first time or needed something for their kid to play minecraft on, especially at the price.
Every time I try to go where I really wanna be it's already where I am, 'cuz I'm already there

Um..... no.

This. You could probably get away with $500. Otherwise, 300-400, I'd say is a good price.
