I remember playing this game a while back, basically you were a knight of some sort, and the first level was this abandoned medieval village where you were stalked by a werewolf I believe. The graphics were all 3D, and if I remember correctly, the camera was static, only changing when you entered a room, resident evil style.

I can remember that this game was very old, the controls were about as stiff as a brick wall, and the graphics were definetly early Playstation 1 or earlier, possibly super famicon.

Imagine a three dimensional “King’s field” game, and you have it in a nutshell.

I apologize if I’m not describing it all that clearly, as it’s been a while since I’ve played the game.

Side note: It’s definetly not Medievil, I know that much

I played that game. I'll see if I can remember the name of it.

Edit: I'm thinking of Nightmare Creatures.

Yes, it’s very much like “Nightmare creatures” but the graphics are more simple, maybe the game I’m thinking of is a precursor to it.

Was it one of the N64 Castlevanias?

I don't think so, this definitely came before castlevania series went 3D. But thank you for the suggestion.

Went to Giant Bomb and looked up Alone in the Dark, which I figured would be about the earliest game in the subgenre, clicked similar and started looking up likely suspects.
