I need a cheap monitor for the holidays
anything under 250$

Monitors have longevity and make a huge difference in gaming/smoothness, don't cheap out to save $50... I personally would never buy a monitor without 144hz currently as the difference is night and day even with just desktop navigation. TBH if you buy some cheap AOC for $250 over a decent $300 gaming monitor you'd be a moron.

I will consider that if I cant find a good IPS one since I watch more videos than FPS game
I still have ye olde R9 290X I have not had a reason to upgrade it yet
this monitor is just temporary though, I am visiting family and will let them keep it once I leave
