@tearast That's some pretty thick molasses you're forcing your mind to tread through. It's that companies are ran by people who care more about their bottom line to continue doing business (although that may be moot in Crytek's case) rather than adhering to artist courtesy.
A pc's brain is the cpu, its heart is the motherboard, its stomach is the hard drive, and its anus is the user.

Can you read? That's exactly what I said.

The issue isn't that CIG switched to Lumberyard, but that they switched and kept using CryEngine 3 assets beyond their contract and/or without adhering to the original agreement for using said assets.

That is complete bulls***.

Straight for CIG-

“We are aware of the Crytek complaint having been filed in the US District Court. CIG hasn’t used the CryEngine for quite some time since we switched to Amazon’s Lumberyard. This is a meritless lawsuit that we will defend vigorously against, including recovering from Crytek any costs incurred in this matter.”

The suit will be dismissed and Crytech will have to pay CIG if anything.
There will always be weak and small minded people who look down on visionaries who want to show them change. In the end we Star Citizen fans get the last laugh.

Lmao Crytek butthurt they aren't using their s***ty engine. Times change, companies move on. Get over it.

Contracts, they're a b****.

Any honorable game dev would let Robert use whatever engine he wanted to maximize his game's potential to give everyone a better product. But it's obvious that Crytek aren't true gamers and don't give a s*** about revolutionizing the game industry and playing a better game themselves.

Selling jpgs for 1000$ revolutionizes the industry so much! Oh wait that's basically a scam.

Like we should take anything that come from guru Chris Robbers' mouth seriously... All he did for the past 5 years is lying. Is having the lawsuit dismissed another one of his false promises?

Why the hell would be incriminate himself?

Meh.

Chris Roberts already has his sports cars and has had his spouse/family drawing a salary from the company for a long while now so I doubt he cares if Star Citizen sinks.

Was having a hard time thinking of anything that has ever used their engine.

Wasn't Crytek the guys not paying their employees? Didn't they lose a lot of employees to CIG that way? (I mean it's hard to keep people working for you when you're not paying them)

This is probably a cash grab.

And they'll probably settle for a fair sum.
With deeper knowledge and experience, everything becomes more shallow.

A lot of bad games from small developers do. I'm not sure what the license is, but apparently it's lenient enough for them to do so. Here is an example

(go to 4:24 if you want to jump to gameplay)

Other than bad games, I remember Lichdom: Battlemage also uses it.
