No, i would not consider him a good source of info, he appeals too much to the ADHD idiot mainstream.
Also his voice is annoying.

There is JayzTwoCents as an alternative.

Linus has gotten pretty memey over the last couple years.

Yeah i prefer Jay myself. Linus can be good but he can also cover a lot of crap the vast majority will never buy because we cant afford it.

I'd say that if nothing else LTT is usually upfront and honest. If they're sponsored for an episode, they admit it. If they got something wrong, they usually correct it. If their opinion changes over time, they'll make a followup episode. For example, they've basically been calling AMD out for their s***ty handling of Vega while also praising them for Ryzen. They're not -usually- biased, but legitimately just trying to offer their best-informed opinion.

However, I do dislike how click-baity they've been recently. They acknowledged that as well, but it's just sort of destined to happen to any channel that becomes popular, it continues appealing to the masses and less to the niche audience it originally interested to become popular in the first place. As such, as other said, it's become quite memey and over the top vs practical. But overall I enjoy the videos nonetheless.

Rather than the vanity projects, i wish they would show more love to the ghetto builders. Forget about being able to afford, i wouldn't want to touch the s*** they f*** with half the time.

I feel that's pretty much all the major tech tubers, frankly.

Only the smaller guys tend to look at anything else, like Tech Yes City, for example.

LTT is very reliable and upfront. So much so, I still watch sometimes for the WAN show just to support that. I don't like the memey direction it's gone but he has people to feed and that's the only way Google will promote your channel now :(

I think so. He and Luke are pretty knowledgeable and they do some fun stuff too like their scrapyard war series.

Now if you wanna talk about a tech youtuber who kind of f***ing sucks, I point you to Austin Evans. As a human being he seems okay, but all he seems to do is make 2-3 minute videos of B-roll, and somehow he's "known". The f*** why?

For as much as I rate and still do rate LTT there's not a lot I watch on there anymore. Video's are typically around the 10 minute mark, break that into 2 minutes for ads and 2mins of lead in you get around 5 or 6 minutes of actual focused content and I don't think that's quite informative enough. Of the last 52 LTT video's I've watched 6 of them and 3 of those were the WAN show. The last 2 uploads for example are about laptops. Porsche made a laptop.. don't care laptops are what your mum reads emails on, the other one is the perfect gaming laptop which is a logical fallacy since reading emails is not a game.

JzTC is a bit like what LTT used to be. He takes that extra few minutes to explain something.

TTL is very informative but can waffle on and can have a video that's 25+ mins.
