I haven't actually sat and played a video game in years. I want to get this, but I have arachnophobia which was a pretty big problem when I played Oblivion. Does this game have spiders in it? If so, are they realistic looking?

Wow. Umm, yes it does have spiders, and they are pretty creepy looking. You do realize it's a video game though, right?

I am aware of that, but I don't see how that changes anything. In any case, thanks. Probably won't be picking this up now.
98% of ppl who use sigs like this don't know what they are talking about. If you are one of the 2% who hate these people, copy & paste this into your sig.

I mean....there's spiders in one or two portions of the game, especially in this one part that's part of the main story....and it'll take you a good 15-30 minutes to get through it all. After that, you really don't see them around.

Yes and yes.

However, with the nifty, thrifty toolset, you can replace spiders with whatever you like.

Someone on the forums replaced all the spiders with bears, for example. For some reason.

Someone remind me where the spiders were in Oblivion... I'm having trouble remembering any.

Anyway, the fact that you don't play Dragon Age in first person would help. Just zoom all the way out when you come up against spiders (there's a batch for an optional quest in the first town, a collection of them in a random encounter, a single lair in one story mission, and they're one of the two enemy types for a dungeon in one of the other story missions). All in all, they're very rare.

There's spiders in the Dalish Origin, some in Lothering, and the rest are scattered around the Deep Roads.

You can also turn into one with the Shapeshifter class, which Morrigan naturally has. But that specialization simply sucks.

I think that toolset is a fantastic idea. People with phobias need not be worried! =D
