Then I wondered, what's it like to play this game on an old CRT TV, 25" or less, over the original composite cables?
Any ever play this game on a setup like that/
I did about half a year ago, but I tend to spray and pray in FPSs so I didn't need to see the details.
Spray and pray got me through Normal mode.
In Hard mode when I got close enough to do damage that way, the enemies were close enough to do even more damage to me.
Sniping as much as possible has gotten through to the last section of Mission 8: Spetriniv Gulag, which is kicking me all over the place once I enter the room. No time to aim, and too many to beat with spray and pray the way I do it.
Right now I'm watching this to learn some aiming tactics.
[PS2] BLACK Spetriniv Gulag (HARD) MAGNUM Only 3/3 by attackar http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33W-rN2DuIM
The key seems to be movement from side to side. The same movements that drive me crazy when enemies do it. I guess it throws off their aim as well.
I also saw a reference to progressive scan for Black. Had to fire up the game just to check it out. Suddenly the sky is blue, when it definitely wasn't before. (I remember seeing a youtube video with blue sky, and wondering why my game didn't have that.)
Black really looks good with progressive scan. Not my best looking game, but the clarity and detail are still outstanding. The Bridge with all the long range fighting and stuff in the distance is freshly intimidating.
