I don't want the $ and PP bonus.

No, to access the other game modes (EX-Hard and Special), you MUST load a clear file.

If you don't "want" the $$$/PP carry over, just don't use it.

Yeah you can spend your PP on skills then delete the skills.

and upgrade mechs you aren't going to use.

But I'm pretty sure EX-hard mode is designed to be played thru with upgraded mechs, but you can dump your money into upgrading units you wont use, and stuff like that if you want to zero balance it.

Actually guys, I found a way to hack into the data of the game and start every new file on Extra Hard difficulty.
I made it up to stage 10, and it's so damn hard to get the battle masteries it's no fun anymore.

Also, the bonus pilot & mech themes are not unlocked this way.

I thought that you automatically start with nothing when choosing Ex-Hard
I feel like TC when he made the topic, not how he feels about it right now

You keep the Skills too? Not just PP and cash?
Surely you don't keep the Pilot's stats... or any mech upgrades.. yikes

Don't worry Tide, you "only" start with the bonus PP and $$$.
And you unlock new BGMs.

From the "Secret FAQ" by sinclarius :

*To play replay mode, save after credit rolls then load that savefile.

*Replay mode will not carry over upgrades, however you will carry
over 50% of total PP regardless what you spent on and 150% of your money.

*In a mission, Open up the option menu and choose the 2nd last
which will open up another 4 sub-option, choose the 3rd
sub-option and you can set different BGM for your characters.

I'm guessing he expected it to be easy street like OG1 was.

In OG2 a no upgrade challenge is ACTUALLY A CHALLENGE.
