For a while now I have been experiencing the problem where the entire game hiccups for about 1 second about 20 second intervals. This has been extremely frusturating however I was able to find a fix which seems sort of arbitrary and silly but it is working for me so I figured I would go ahead and make a post.
For whatever reason it seems that my USB headset was causing the lag issues, other USB devices do not interfere whatsoever. I tried using different USB slots on my laptop with every combination of USB devices and basically found that the headset itself was the only device which would cause the lag when plugged in, regardless of the USB slot on the laptop being used. I am using Windows 7 on a HP pavillion dv6 laptop, my headset is plantronics. Hope this helps someone out other than me!
tehdud posted... great scott that might be why i freeze frame every 5 seconds in a crowded screen
No that sounds like you probably just need better isp or pc, my problem could be replicated in any situation with the headset connection being the only variable having an effect . Thanks for the sarcasm though.
