Is there some way you can switch to the snes music? The ps1 version is causing damage to my eardrums......

Nope. I'm afraid you'll have to just get an SNES or an emulator.

I'm starting to feel mentally disabled. I am a musical person and yet I've never noticed the problems with the X Collection music that everyone is talking about.
it's supposed to be elixir

Is not really a problem, but I (and I bet many others) would rather have the SNES version of X3. It'd have been more fitting.

What's on this collection is the PS1/Sega Saturn version of X3, complete with different music and animated cutscenes. I prefer the SNES version as well, just because it has better music. Unfortunately you can't switch between the two.

I'd only keep the SNES one :P

Yeah, it's a disappointment. The SNES version's music was much better.

They should have allowed us to switch the music if we wanted.
