Getting a refurbished 360 after sending in my power outaged broken 360. Sigh.

so now I'm getting a refurbished one.. I guess they couldn't fix it and the surge protection died in that storm :/

This sucks. I know refurbished ones are terrible and I'll probably have to send it in again in like a month. Anyone else ever gotten a refurbished 360 from Microsoft and if so, how long did it last?

My refurbished 360 has been working great for over two years now.

Getting used 360s are much of a gamble. I know someone who had a launch-day 360 that finally red-ringed after 5 years. I got mine from Gamestop refurbished on Wednesday and, aside from some heat in the back, it's been going really well.

If you're still determined to get a used one, definately trust a retailer like Best Buy or Gamestop. DO NOT buy one on Craigslist or eBay, since there's no way of knowing if the system's sold broken, banned, or whatever.
