I guess it depends on the game, but what is your button preference when sprinting?

For me it's LB, it allows you to sprint but still have control of the left stick to move in the direction and the right stick for camera position.

Using any of the face buttons for sprinting just means your thumb can't occupy the right stick, then again you lose camera control during that time.

I think it would be cool if no button was needed, and it just happened naturally. If you're walking and pressing the stick all the way up, your character should start moving faster and build up to a sprint. I don't like clicking in the stick. I feel like I'm putting heavy wear on the poor thing during more intense games.

I know I'm putting heavy wear on it. Pretty sure thats why I go through at least one or two controllers by the time I'm done playing that year's COD game.

LB is by far the most comfortable.....but on another not i never liked the way the character puts the gun down while sprinting in fps games....it just takes something away in my opinion

I would prefer a single click on a button to activate the sprint, like Crysis, instead of holding the button down.

I would prefer that the sprint button be LB, but best case scenario requires fully customizable controls. I'm sick and tired of lame ass control schemes coming from developers, just give people the option to customize controls and be done with it.

I prefer that the game have an option to always sprint and instead press the button to not do so.

They should take out sprinting and make characters run constantly fast, like the old school shooters.
