+Gorgeous game, especially the parts that feature a lot of snow and weather effects
+Environments have an absurd amount of detail to them
+Character models, animations, and voice acting are all done with expertise
+It's still mostly Dead Space
+More puzzles than usual
+Really cool set pieces
+The redesigns for old Necromorphs are for the better
+New enemies are great
+Gunplay with human enemies isn't a train wreck
+New upgrade system for the rig is more appealing than the nodes
+Crafting for weapons is cool and works well, but is underutilize
+Side missions are a nice distraction
+New game plus is still an awesome feature and gives the game a ton of replayability
+New abilities late in the game are really cool
-The plot is just a series of excuses to make Isaac collect or fix things
-First half of the game is boring and just a retread of environments and themes explored enough in the first two games
-Stupid love triangle subplot has no place in a game like this
-Characters are melodramatic, poorly written, and almost all of them do something at some point in the game that makes little to no sense at all
-Isaac's dialogue is the worst and makes me wish he never stopped being a mute
-Space set-pieces are insultingly stupid
-No one else wears a helmet except Isaac, even in the freezing cold that the game establishes WILL KILL YOU without the proper clothing
-Feels like it rips off Lost Planet and Uncharted more than a bit
-Almost no scary moments
-No split-screen
-Online pass
-Certain plot developments are forced and happen just because
-Way too easy
-Co-op doesn't mesh well with the pace of the game
-Micro transactions in a $60 game is disturbing
-Only being able to carry two weapons at a time restricts experimentation
-No inventory management or ammo conservation elements
-Saw enemies disappear for no reason
-More glitches than the previous two games

Verdict:

Rent it

I feel like this would be a game I would need to own as I love the whole series and going back to them

I think I will have to wait for a big price-drop though

No need

There will only be pro's and the verdict will be to buy it

Agreed. The LE doesn't offer me anything I want, anyway. I even tried a DS2 playthrough to spark some interest, didn't take.

Buy it.

Um... eventually.

I'm still working on my holiday backlog. Got Farcry 3 for Christmas, bought The Walking Dead eps 3, 4, 5, as well as Skyrim: Dawnguard.

Haven't even touched Farcry or The Walking Dead.

Buy it in a month when it's $30 just like all EA games. I'm still kicking myself for buying Hitman Absolution on release day and two weeks later it was like $29.
