It costs $80 a year for Live.

We cannot buy Indie Games.

New games cost TWICE AS MUCH (Games-On-Demand included, which is disgusting.)

Why do they continue to torture us...

It's not Microsoft's fault. The Australian Government taxes the heck out of games and other products.

Then why are Games-On-Demand more expensive than those in stores? Example: I can grab Dishonoured for $60 at EB Games... it is $79.99 on the Marketplace.

It's converted according to country. Each country has a different price. Even if it is through the internet, Microsoft still has to obey Aussie laws.

Why would anyone want to live in Australia?

Did you know some people are born in Australia? I find it hard to believe as well but it's true!

I moved from the States to Australia last year.
Having said that, why would anyone pay retail when one can buy everything online for a fraction of the price?

I bought live for $40; BO2 for $60; and I can buy indie games on my U.S xbox live account (which I bring up to mean that one simply needs to create a U.S live account and they should be able to buy indie games).

I agree with the above, the government is to blame, not Microsoft. The taxes are ridiculous here.

This is universal. Here in the States, games that are going for $20 in stores or Amazon type sites will be $40 On Demand, and games going for $40 in stores or Amazon type sites will be $60 On Demand.

Convenience to the customer costs more, even though the product - which is a convenience to the publisher - is much more cheaper to produce. (No freight, no physical production, no middlemen B and M store costs, etc.)
If you're omnipotent and all-powerful...why would you need to REST? On the 7th or ANY day?
