nope for me its children and family friendly gaming that will lead to the death of gaming, or atleast a spiritual death.

of course not, piracy just helps highlight the mistakes of the industry rather than kill it. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's beneficial, but if want truly effective market research, look into why people are pirating your game rather than buying it.

Yes yes.

Pirates, used sales, and new formats will destroy the entertainment industry.

In other timely news, Nancy Reagan urges America's youth to "Just say No".

Don't forget rental services and letting friend's borrow your copy is also destroying the industry.

I didn't mean it like used games will kill the industry, I was just trying to draw a comparison. Because somebody bought the game before new, and when you buy it used, it's kind of the same thing if you think about it.

I do agree with the statement that most people download a game, like it, and either buy it or other games from that company.

The movie industry is crap today, for majority. And they do the same thing the gaming community does, blame their products on pirates.

Piracy has been occurring since the early 1980s. It hasn't killed the industry yet, why should it now?

DRM will do that on its own. Kill what it set out to protect. How tragically ironic.
It's powered by a forsaken child?!
Might be, kind of. I mean, I didn't use the whole thing!

Did piracy destroy the music industry?
