Since MRevelle mentioned getting an email about XBL Rewards, I thought I'd check my account... sure enough, I got the same message:

Looks like, after the transition, they'll not be giving points, or money, anymore. Ah well... at least I'm sitting on two hundred pending MSP, so I'll have that thrown into my "wallet", to buy a piece of DLC or something.

July 31st? That's enough time for 800 more points.

Well, they did word it to be vague. They say MS points are gone, but they are making a point not to say what we can do with Bing points.

If anything else, I suppose they will probably keep a month of Gold as a reward, so you can always use Bing for that.

You actually get the most bang for your points getting the Tango card option anyway. I always go with that option, and if I need MSP I just cash out my Tango for Amazon credit and buy the MSP there.

I would imagine I'd do the same thing going forward but buying MS wallet credit (or whatever they end up calling it) instead of MSP.

There seems to be some people getting Bing Rewards and Xbox Rewards confused in here.

Just get the $5 Amazon gift cards with Bing credits. I wish I would have done that the entire time instead of getting MSP most of the time.

You know, you're right. I assume this will still affect Bing as it is MSP you buy there. I actually forgot I was part of the Xbox Rewards program... 20 MSP a month is nothing, especially when Bing is used.

I'm actually surprised I didn't notice.

XBL Rewards is run by Eprize, so that's why they made their announcement, but there hasn't been any announcement from Bing yet.

I doubt XBL Rewards will be stopping all of their promotions completely, odds are they'll just be giving out "local currency" instead of points.
