I agree with your vision... The entire PS3/Xbox 360 era was (basically) updated versions of (insert name of random shooter) 1 million...

No idea why they didn't follow up Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts, and no idea why they didn't do Conkey, etc... It's actually pretty lame.

yes, Kameo I suppose that would count. It would be the best.

I'm very disappointed how Microsoft never bothered to rival Ratchet & Clank or Mario.

Kameo wasn't really a platformer though. More of an action game with some platforming. You mostly were doing melee or shooting types of combat from the ground. And even then, I think the platforming is limited to a few of the creature forms, the rest of the forms and Kameo herself don't do any platforming.

On topic, I'd argue Rayman, Dr Muto, etc are just as good as Xbox era Crash. I don't think I'd call Crash the best. Shame Vince wasn't BC...

I had the first 3 Ratchet and Clank games, and they kindof got redundant after Up Your Arsenal, but the first was incredible and I really loved it...
